Our Story

Rebuilding Together Oakland | East Bay works to prevent homelessness and to preserve communities. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and we are part of a network of more than 200 affiliates providing critical home repairs to low-income homeowners at no cost to them.

Older, disabled and other vulnerable homeowners are often unable to perform or afford home maintenance. Deferred maintenance compromises the safety and soundness of the home. We also repair and renovate non-profit facilities serving low-income communities in the Oakland - Hayward corridor.

A typical Rebuilding Together Oakland | East Bay homeowner may be a:

  • Senior
  • Person with a disability (SSI Eligible)
  • Veteran
  • Adult child caring for ailing parents

The repairs are performed by dedicated volunteers like you, skilled and unskilled volunteers. Our program is supported through sponsorships and individual donors.
